Jarrod Winkcompleck, CFP®

CEO, Senior Financial Planner

As principal and CEO, Jarrod oversees all aspects of the client experience, from strategic planning and investment implementation to structuring financial roadmaps for clients. As a fiduciary, he is responsible for organizing the team’s focus to maintain a client-centric firm. Although Jarrod spent much of his career meeting the needs of the ultra-wealthy, today he is following his passion: serving everyday people in their prime earning years, as well as those nearing retirement.

Jarrod started his working life as an investment advisor before becoming a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), assisting our nation’s veterans as a Senior Financial Planner for USAA. Later, he served as Director of Business Development and Senior Planner for one of Texas’ largest and most profitable Registered Investment Advisors. In recent years, he also acted as Partner and Senior Advisor to a specialized private wealth management firm before founding Gap Financial Services. As of 2019, he accepted an appointment from the Texas Lt. Governor to serve on the Texas Prepaid Higher Education Tuition Board, a group of experts dedicated to managing the Texas Tuition Promise Fund and Texas 529 Savings Plan. Beginning in 2023, the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts appointed Jarrod to serve as the Presiding Officer of the Texas ABLE® Program, which assists individuals with disabilities and their families in saving funds to pay for many disability-related expenses.       

In addition to the CFP®, Jarrod holds the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®), Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC®), Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor (CMFC®), Cash Balance Consultant (CBC®), Certified Health Savings Advisor (CHSA®), and Chartered Advisor for Senior Living (CASL®) designations. He graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a BBA in Finance. Director of Wealth Management

Ben brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his role as Director of Wealth Management for Gap Financial Services. During his 27 years in the financial advisory industry, Ben has developed a desire to serve clients with customized financial planning solutions that propel them to achieve their family’s financial success. Ben helps his clients prioritize goals using his extensive experience in investment consulting, estate and asset protection planning, tax planning and retirement analysis. He assists as clients work through complex financial issues and partners closely with their tax, legal, and insurance advisors to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach. Ben believes in giving clients solid, unbiased advice and always acts as a fiduciary. Ben’s personal attention to the details and high level of customized advice helps clients achieve long-term goals with peace of mind along the way.

Ben’s career started in Austin, Texas, as a Registered Advisor with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter. In 2005, he went to USAA to assist our nation's service members and their families as Lead Financial Planner. Most recently, he has led efforts at both First Command and Morgan Stanley to develop a higher quality, more comprehensive financial planning strategy for advisors to assist the clients they serve. In addition to being a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), Ben holds the Accredited Estate Planner (AEP®), Registered Life Planner (RLP®), Accredited Wealth Management Advisor (AWMA®), Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC®), Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS®), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®), and Chartered Advisor for Senior Living (CASL®) designations. 

Ben graduated from St. Edward’s University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, and subsequently a Master of Science in Personal Financial Planning from the College for Financial Planning. He is active with the Financial Planning Association, Estate Planning Council of Central Texas, and most recently served from 2020 to 2023 as Commissioner for the CFP BOARD Disciplinary and Ethics Commission. Ben's experience and dedication to his clients have not gone unnoticed - Ben was recently recognized by Money as one of the Best Financial Planners of 2024! This prestigious honor places him among a special group of just 80 financial planners nationwide, selected from over 1,000 applicants. Steve has more than 40 years’ experience in financial services.  Through investment management advice and financial counseling, he helps individuals, families, and senior executives achieve personal lifetime financial goals from our Boerne office. Prior to becoming a CFP® practitioner and fee-only fiduciary, Steve worked as a bank trust officer, helping clients plan for disposition of their estates through estate conservation and tax-efficient investment strategies. He also advised parents of special needs children about how to achieve financial security by integrating personal saving and investment techniques with government benefits. As a guest on several television and radio programs, Steve has shared ideas about how to prepare financially for a successful retirement. He has also taught courses for the CFP® Professional certificate program. Steve earned his Bachelor’s degree from Boston College and his Master’s degree from the University of Maryland.  He and Jo-Ann, his wife of 54 years, live in Boerne, Texas.  They have two children and two grandchildren.

As President, Lorri brings clarity and vision to the firm from both the public and private sectors. After more than a decade of teaching in the high school classroom, she moved into the world of consulting and discovered the absence of quality solutions for growing and maintaining the wealth of everyday people. She co-founded Gap Financial and coordinates the efforts of a team of credentialed advisors to fill that gap. In her spare time, Lorri is a published freelance writer and volunteers with many organizations associated with her church and her child's school. She and Jarrod, her husband of 29 years, live in Austin.
